About Charleston Media Group
Charleston Media Group is a real estate photography and video company on Johns Island, SC, founded in 2010 by Barry Cunningham. Barry shoots every listing himself and is an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot.
Barry grew up in Welland, Ontario, near Niagara Falls, and got his first camera at about twelve: a 35mm Kodak with a pop-up flash that he wore out. He studied at the University of Waterloo, earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in St. Louis, and ran a practice for years before moving to Charleston with his family in 2004.
Photography stayed with him the whole way, from a Nikon film SLR in the ’90s to the gear that fills a backpack today. In 2010 he started photographing homes for Charleston agents and builders, and it became Charleston Media Group.
Sixteen years later the work is the same: show the house the way it feels in person, deliver it fast, and pick up the phone when an agent calls.
